Purpose

Climasheet is an online spreadsheet tool designed to simplify the assessment of whole-life embodied carbon in building projects. With its familiar interface, Climasheet displays the most relevant data, giving you a comprehensive understanding of your project's carbon footprint.

Climasheet is 100% FREE. If you want to support us, please buy us a coffee. Thank you :)

Get started!

1. Create an account and log in.

2. Create a project (main page/create project).

3. Open the project you just created (account/open project).

4. Select a CSI division and a material in the first row and fill in project-specific info such as quantity, transport distance, etc.

5. Click Add.

6. Done! Climasheet automatically calculates and displays the embodied carbon emissions of each material and the entire project.

NOTES:

1. Choose a CSI division before choosing a material.

2. Use round numbers. No decimal numbers.

3. End-of-life: Land.+Inc.+Rec. must be 100%.

Source code

Climasheet is powered by the Carbo Code, a simplified methodology for assessing the whole life embodied carbon of building projects. Carbo Code is available as a free download at www.climatecture.com [Link here].

Materials

At launch, Climasheet relies heavily on the materials and emission factors from the ICE database [Link here]. The ICE emission factors are drawn from data from around the world and can be used as a 'proxy' in the absence of country-specific data [Link here].

We have also added materials not in the ICE database but relevant to our users. To support vernacular architecture, we emphasized 'natural' building materials such as earth materials, stones, thatch, etc.

Collaboration

To promote low-carbon construction, we developed Climasheet as a collaborative tool. We invite you to publish your completed projects on the platform by clicking 'publish' on the main page. If you prefer to keep your project name confidential, simply click 'edit' and select the 'confidential' option.
